There have been various speculations about the health status of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in recent days. It is noteworthy that Erdogan’s voice has been hoarse and looks tired in his recent speeches. Some sources claim that Erdogan has a heart condition, while others suggest that he has a coronavirus infection. There was no official statement about Erdogan’s health condition. This situation creates significant uncertainty for Turkey’s political future.

These days Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan health condition is not good. He has canceled his election rallies for health reasons, sparking speculation and concern about his well-being. Erdogan who is seeking a fifth term in office in the May 14 elections he said he felt sick with an upset stomach during a live TV interview on Tuesday night. He cut short the interview and took a 20-minute break before returning to the screen. He said he had a serious stomach bug and thanked everyone who expressed their well-wishes.

On Wednesday, Erdogan announced on Twitter that he would rest at home with the advice of his doctors. He also canceled his planned trip to Mersin province where he was supposed to attend a ceremony at the Akkuyu nuclear power plant via video link. His deputy chair said the Mersin rally would be held on a future date.

Tayyip Erdogan’s health has been an ongoing issue since 2006 when he was rushed into a hospital unconscious feeding rumors that he had epilepsy or diabetes, or both. Following surgery on his lower intestines in 2011 some local journalists and foreign analysts claimed he had advanced colon cancer even speculating that he had only two years to live.

However, Erdogan has denied having any serious health problems and has dismissed the rumors as part of a smear campaign by his opponents. He has also accused some media outlets of spreading false information about his condition.
